SH 130 Segments 5 & 6

SH 130 Segments 5 & 6 is a four-lane, 41-mile divided toll highway bypassing a heavily-congested stretch of I-35 in central Texas between San Antonio and Austin. A long, greenfield corridor, the project traverses three counties and was the first design, build, operate and maintain contract awarded and completed in Texas. Ferrovial led the design-build joint venture under a fixed-price, fixed-schedule contract. The project required construction of 72 bridges including seven major direct connectors with major interchanges (I-10 and SH-45). Completed right-of-way acquisition of 320 parcels (including 175 relocations), valued at $112 million in 21 months. Construction involved 28 million cubic yards of earthwork and 1.8 million tons of asphalt. The $968 M project completed one month early in October 2012.
